Biography:

Didier Drogba was born in the Ivory Coast on the 11th of March 1978. As a youngster Drogba was sent to live with his uncle, a professional football player in Paris, but soon returned home due to homesickness. In 1991 Drogba returned to France with his whole family.

Drogba played football regularly as a youngster but only began playing club football at the age of 15. Despite being a prolific goalscorer, Drogba was not regarded as a significant talent by his coaches. He moved to Le Mans upon finishing school, and began an apprenticeship with the club.
